23 April 2019
An 18-year-old man has died in hospital after reportedly falling from an obstacle course at an army training centre.
Liam Wolf was injured while completing basic training at the Army Recruit Training Centre in Kapooka, in the NSW Riverina region, on April 19.
The 18-year-old was rushed to a Sydney hospital for specialist treatment but later died on Tuesday, the Department of Defence confirmed in a statement.
At the time of the incident, Mr Wolf's army colleagues tried to save his life.
The Australian Defence Force offered its condolences to Mr Wolf's family and friends and noted the 'commendable' actions of the army members and health staff involved in giving him immediate first aid.
Tributes have since been flowing for the teenager on Facebook.
